The British Legal Awards 2017: who won what – and why...

The legal profession’s finest converged on London’s Finsbury Square for the British Legal Awards last month, with awards handed out to more than 30 standout performers after another eventful year.

Fieldfisher saw off competition from seven other nominees to take home the coveted Law Firm of the Year award, while others taking home multiple honours included Allen & Overy (A&O) and Pinsent Masons.

The host for the evening was actress, TV presenter and comedian Sally Phillips, while the designated charity for the awards was Embrace – Child Victims Of Crime, which supports children, young people and families who are victims of serious crime (click here for more information).

The award winners were decided by a senior independent judging panel, led by City of London Law Society chair Ed Sparrow, and comprising senior lawyers from companies including BAE Systems, ITV, EE, Marks & Spencer, Facebook, ASOS and Vodafone, as well as former law firm leaders such as former A&O senior partner David Morley.
