Cripps Harries Hall has expanded its real estate team with the hire of Matthew Cox from Manches. Cox joined the firm's Tunbridge Wells office as a partner in the property team last month (1 January) after serving almost eight years as a non-contentious partner at Manches' London arm.

Simmons & Simmons has won back its position on the Ministry of Defence (MoD) major projects panel four years after being dropped from the roster. The top 15 City law firm is one of seven firms to be appointed by the MoD for a four-year term starting last week (10 January). Field Fisher Waterhouse is also a new addition to the panel while Wragge & Co, Pinsent Masons, Denton Wilde Sapte, Mills & Reeve and Shepherd and Wedderburn have been reappointed.
