    More than half of the UK's top lawyers think average profits per equity partner (PEP) figures released by top law firms are unreliable, according to new research. This week's Legal Week/EJ Legal Big Question survey found that just over half (51%) of lawyers believe the PEP figure released by firms that are not limited liability partnerships (LLPs) are unreliable. Thirteen percent said the figures were 'very unreliable' and a further 38% said they were 'pretty unreliable'. No-one said the figures were 'very reliable'. Eighty-two percent said the PEP figures released by LLP firms were 'more reliable'.

    The College of Law has strengthened its standing with the upper echelons of the City profession, according to new research that gives it more than three times the support of nearest rival BPP Law School. The latest Legal Week/EJ Legal Big Question survey found that two-thirds (66%) of senior lawyers thought the College offers the best Legal Practice Course (LPC) training, compared with 21% favouring BPP, which drops from 23% last year.

The latest Legal Week/EJ Legal Big Question survey, which comes as the debate regarding quality of life at top City firms intensifies, found that 56% of respondents felt under undue pressure from clients either 'all the time' or 'often'.
