Halliwells’ assets and business are set to be split between a number of regional rivals, with a deal with Hill Dickinson to take over the firm in its entirety looking increasingly unlikely.

The struggling firm is in ongoing talks with Hill Dickinson to acquire parts of the business, but Halliwells’ 100-strong insurance team has opted instead to join Barlow Lyde & Gilbert.
