When Simmons & Simmons confirmed last week that it was pulling out of Rome and focusing its Italian firepower on Milan it joined a small but growing list of firms downsizing internationally.
Last month alone saw Winston & Strawn announce plans to pull out of Geneva and WilmerHale confirm closures in Oxford and one of its two London bases.
