In 2009 there were two Scottish headquartered firms in the Legal Week UK top 50. This year, there were none.

If one were to look at headcount figures published in Scottish Business Insider this year – and assume the proposed deal between Maclay Murray & Spens and Addleshaw Goddard goes through – one would also notice that three firms headquartered outside Scotland would account for over 40% of the lawyers employed by the 10 largest firms operating here.
