Property company turns to ex-Freshfields partner for first general counsel after series of changes to bank's legal team

FTSE 100 property company British Land has appointed its first general counsel with the hire of HSBC’s deputy company secretary Elaine Williams.

Williams will take up her new role as general counsel and company secretary on 16 November after almost five years at HSBC.
