International law firm Ashurst advised the Western Australian government on its A$1.41 billion  (US$970 million) partial commercialisation of the state’s land titles register, while King & Wood Mallesons advised the winning bidders.

In a deal announced this week, Land Services WA – a consortium comprising Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) and Australian industry superannuation funds Sunsuper and HESTA – has paid A$1.4 billion (US$970 million) to operate the land titles register, known as Landgate, for the next 40 years.
