Marston Holdings, the UK’s largest judicial services group, has confirmed today that it is to be the headline sponsor and co-host of the 2017 Law Society Rugby 7s and Netball tournament.

Marston Holdings has additionally joined forces with social inclusion charity, The School of Hard Knocks, to support this year’s event at Richmond Rugby Club on Sunday 24 September 2017.

Established in 1975, the competition, originally for the legal profession, has become a popular and prestigious annual event for lawyers and supporting businesses. For the first time in its history, a netball competition has been organised – extending the inclusiveness of the event. Currently, 22 rugby teams and 16 netball teams are signed up, with several other law firms expecting to confirm their participation imminently.

David Lynch (pictured), client services director – civil and business at Marston Holdings, said: “The tournament embodies the principles of team spirit, fairness and inclusion which are key values within our business and its partnerships. We are particularly pleased to be supporting the event in a year that will see broader participation than ever before. Such an inclusive approach also reflects the inspirational activities of our charity partner, The School of Hard Knocks, which will be opening the event with a 7-a-side curtain raiser on the main pitch.”
