KWM's new global managing partner on the collapse of SJ Berwin and why the firm's immediate future is about Asia Pacific - not the US

Given the high profile collapse of its European arm, it is inevitable that King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has been rethinking its plans for global domination.

Roughly five months after the legacy SJ Berwin business officially became the UK’s biggest ever law firm failure, and around seven months since it emerged that KWM had discussed a global tie-up with US firm Morgan Lewis, the Asia-Pacific legal giant’s ambitions are lying distinctly closer to home.
