Former England rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward is to deliver the keynote address at a brand new Legal Week event focused on connecting internal teams to deliver change across key areas of law firm strategy.

LegalWeek Connect will see a host of law firm leaders, general counsel, technology and innovation heads meet to explore a wide range of issues driving innovation, disruption and change in the profession.

Woodward, who was also Team GB’s director of sport at London’s 2012 Olympics, will open the landmark event, which will take place in November in London.

He will be joined by former TalkTalk chief executive Baroness Harding of Winscombe as a speaker at the event, which will focus on three strands: technology, strategy and people.

Ambassadors for LegalWeek Connect include Herbert Smith Freehills chair and senior partner James Palmer, Berwin Leighton Paisner managing partner Lisa Mayhew, KPMG general counsel Jeremy Barton, Macfarlanes senior partner Charles Martin and Travers Smith managing partner David Patient.

Attendees will have the opportunity to create their own bespoke programme for the event, which will include keynote addresses and panel sessions structured around three strands: LegalTech, LegalEngage and LegalTalent.

The event promises to inspire change across the different components of a law firm and connect the people who are responsible for transforming their business, from managing and senior partners through to project managers and functional department heads.

The event will be held at the Institute of Engineering and Technology at Savoy Place and will be followed by the British Legal Awards – which will be held on the evening of 30 November.
