Clyde & Co focuses on Asia in reduced promotions round

Clyde & Co has made up nine partners in its latest round of promotions, with Asia-Pacific the region with the most new partners.

Three partners have been made up across its offices in the UK, with one each joining its Edinburgh, Manchester and London bases.

The firm’s insurance group saw the largest number of new partners join, with its ranks boosted by five.

Two female partners were made up in this year’s promotions, which take effect from 1 May.

Clyde’s Asia-Pacific offices saw the bulk of the appointments, with four partners made up across its Singapore, Hong Kong and China and Perth offices.

The firm’s Dubai and Atlanta offices each saw one new partner addition.

Last year, the firm promoted a record 16 new partners, half of who were women. Eight of the new partners last year were based in the firm’s UK offices.

Clyde & Co senior partner, Simon Konsta, said: “As an international firm, we’re proud that our new partners reflect the diverse range of people, talent and countries in which we do business. It also demonstrates the opportunities we give people to grow and develop with us across the world. The group contains top calibre lawyers who have demonstrated the market-leading advice and client service that we’re known for.”

In February this year, the firm opened offices in Chicago and Washington DC with the hire of 10 partners from US law firm Troutman Sanders.
