HSF Asia disputes chief relocates from Japan to lead new Malaysia base

Peter Godwin moves from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur as firm recruits trio of lawyers for launch


Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) Asia disputes head Peter Godwin has relocated from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur to lead the firm’s new Malaysia office.

The office, which is expected to launch in May, will initially be staffed by six lawyers, including three HSF partners – Godwin corporate partner Vik Tang, a Malaysian national who is relocating from from the firm’s Jakarta office, and Brisbane senior associate Glynn Cooper, who has been promoted to partner for the move.
