The Manhattan district attorney’s office has opened an investigation into allegations of wrongdoing by former Dewey & LeBoeuf chairman Steven Davis, who was this weekend removed from the firm’s management team.

Davis has been ousted from both Dewey’s executive committee and the recently formed five-partner ‘office of the chairman’, while the firm has appointed two of its own lawyers to lead an internal probe, according to a memo issued by Dewey management and obtained by The Am Law Daily.
