Ashurst is finalising its ambitious bid to forge a transatlantic finance practice after this week securing a deal to recruit a 10-partner team from US ally McKee Nelson.
The bid, revealed on Tuesday (24 February) by legalweek.com, will see a 30-lawyer US finance practice join the City law firm. The deal will hand Ashurst a presence in both New York and Washington DC – with three partners based in the US capital – securing its first major entry into the US market. Ashurst currently only has a New York liaison office and a small US listing capability in London.
