Overview
Insurance, financial services and private equity have traditionally been key focuses for Debevoise & Plimpton. In the City, however, this leading Manhattan firm is most famous for its eye-catching hire in 2007 of controversial former Attorney General and Fountain Court silk Lord Goldsmith.
The firm emerged as one of the top performers of the 2007 US results season, with profits and turnover each up by more than 20%. Partner profits shot up to a new high of $2.29m (£1.15m), with fees up to reach the best part of $710m (£357m).
