Clyde & Co has announced that it will keep on 92% of the qualifying trainees from the firm's September 2010 intake.
Clydes offered roles to 23 qualifiers out of 26 due to qualify this September, with one of the 26 opting to exclude themselves from the process.
These 92% retention rate marks an improvement of 4% on the September 2009 intake, when 22 of 25 qualifiers were offered roles at the firm.
Clydes head of human resources operations Rob Worrall said: "We are investing in the future of the firm and we are always looking to recruit and retain the best trainees. This is a very exciting and busy time for Clydes, with the expansion of our international network and the growth of our global practices."
The majority of City law firms have reported rising retention rates so far this year, including Slaughter and May, which posted a 93% retention rate for September, while Berwin Leighton Paisner, Macfarlanes and Holman Fenwick Willan also posted retention rates in excess of 90%.
Bird & Bird was one of the few firms to see retention rates decline, although it maintained a fairly high rate of 84% after it kept on 100% of qualifiers in September last year.
