Salans has made up nine lawyers to partner in the firm's annual promotions round, including one in London.

City-based arbitration lawyer George Burn has joined the firm's partnership in the latest round of promotions, which were geared towards lawyers with insolvency and restructuring experience.

The firm's Warsaw and Paris offices took the lion's share of the new partners, with three promotions each.

Pirouzan Parvine (corporate), Mateusz Toczyski (banking) and Agnieszka Wardak (litigation) have been made up in Warsaw, while Antoine Mercier (real estate), Catherine Joffroy (corporate) and Julie Caussade (employment) have been promoted in Paris.

Meanwhile, Almaty saw the promotion of tax lawyer Kanat Skakov, while corporate specialist Markian Silecky has been made up in Kiev.

The firm has also added a counsel in London, with the promotion of banking associate Abigail Townley.

No associates joined the Salans partnership last year, when the firm instead focused on promoting fixed-share partners to the equity and taking on new lateral hires.

Salans made 17 internal promotions from fixed share to equity during 2009, while also recruiting 11 new lateral partners during the course of the year.

Salans recently stated that it is planning to strengthen its main offices in Paris, London and New York, while also focusing on emerging markets where it does not yet have a presence.
