A six-lawyer team from Eversheds' Milan office is set to join Withers next week.
Italy dispute resolution co-head Riccardo Buizza will join Withers along with corporate tax partner Luigi Macioce and four associates from Eversheds' Italian practice, known locally as Eversheds Bianchini.
The hires are a significant boost for Withers' four-lawyer Milan office, which currently has just two partners - corporate commercial partner Roberta Crivellaro, who heads the firm's Italian desk, and Withers' chair and head of the international commercial group Anthony Indaimo.
Withers also has around 40 Italian-speaking lawyers across the UK, US and Asia as part of its Italian desk, which acts for Italian businesses around the world.
Indaimo commented: "With the new enlarged Italian law team in Milan we can do more for our international clients investing in and doing business in Italy."
Buizza added: "I am very excited to be joining Withers. My particular interest and experience in litigation, especially in cross-border scenarios, is a perfect fit with Withers' burgeoning international litigation and dispute resolution team. I look forward to contributing to the team's further growth over the coming months."
Milan-based Indaimo has chaired Withers since July 2007 when the commercial lawyer became the first leader appointed outside the firm's esteemed private client and family practices.
