Ashurst has looked in-house for its latest finance hire, bringing in Royal Bank of Scotland's UK head of corporate and restructuring for its loan markets team.

Lee Doyle is set to join Ashurst at the beginning of December, with his arrival coming just weeks after former White & Case restructuring partner Dan Hamilton arrived at the City firm.

Doyle will be the eighth partner in Ashurst's loan markets group in London, which sits within the firm's broader finance practice. Before joining RBS has was an associate at Linklaters.

Vickers said: "Lee will bring with him a wealth of in-house knowledge that will help broaden our relationship coverage and give us an insight into how our clients want to work with us."

Ashurst has brought in several high-profile UK laterals this year, despite the tough economic climate. In addition to Hamilton, highly-rated construction partner Ann Minogue joined from Linklaters earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the firm's energy and projects practice was bolstered through the September hire of Antony Skinner as a partner from Linklaters, where he was a counsel.

However, the additions come against a backdrop of a significant number of partner departures, with 22 partners leaving the firm's limited liability partnership between January and mid-October. The departures equate to around 10% of the firm's partnership as it stood at the beginning of the current financial year.
