Field Fisher Waterhouse has added partner-level tax capacity in Brussels with the recruitment of a two-lawyer team from Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick.
Tax partner Pierre-Philippe Hendrickx joined the UK law firm earlier this month (1 November) along with one senior associate, marking Field Fisher's third partner hire in Brussels in two months.
Hendrickx has been a partner with Liedekerke since 2001 and his practice focuses on Belgian and international tax advisory, transactional and litigation work. He is the first tax-focused partner in the office and takes the total Brussels' partner-count to 13.
Field Fisher Brussels managing partner Eric Cusas said building a tax capacity was instrumental to advising on large corporate transactions.
He commented: "The team's appointment increases the firm's international and European tax capability and means that we can now offer additional tax expertise directly to our clients in Brussels."
Field Fisher hired IP partner Stijn Debaene from Allen & Overy in September and regulatory law partner Veronique Vanden Acker from the same firm last month. However, in October the office saw the departure of local pensions head Corinne Merla to Stibbe.
