The two lawyers charged with insider trading by the Financial Services Authority will go to trial in April next year.
Details of the trial have been set, with the court hearing kicking off on 19 April at Southwark Crown Court under Judge Peter Testar.
The hearing will see former Dorsey & Whitney corporate partner Andrew Rimmington and former McDermott Will & Emery corporate partner Michael McFall standing trial for insider trading along with Peter King, the former financial director of Neutec Pharma.
The trio are charged with eight counts of insider dealing relating to Novartis' 2006 takeover of Neutec. King also faces an additional charge of disclosing non-public information. The case has been scheduled to last four to six weeks.
Rimmington is being advised by Saunders Law Partnership - a niche firm that provides publicly-funded representation. He was previously being advised by Barlow Lyde & Gilbert partner Ian Mason but is understood to have applied for legal aid.
McFall has turned to Kingsley Napley criminal and regulatory partner Stephen Gentle. King is being advised by Irwin Mitchell regulation and investigations partner Sarah Wallace.
Bridget Petherbridge of QEB Hollis Whiteman is representing McFall and Ken MacDonald QC of Matrix Chambers is representing King.
