Reed Smith has re-elected Greg Jordan as global managing partner, marking his fourth term at the helm of the US firm.
Jordan was first elected into the role in 2000 and has maintained his position for the last nine years.
Polls closed earlier this week (21 September) via the firm's intranet and were monitored by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Earlier this summer, Philadelphia-based employment partner John DiNome announced his intentions to stand against Jordan via a memo to the firm's partnership.
However, in June DiNome opted to stand aside, leaving Jordan as the sole candidate.
During his tenure, Jordan has led the firm's global expansion, including the 2007 merger with London's Richards Butler.
Revenue at the firm also climbed to nearly $1bn (£608m) during his nine-year tenure, while global lawyer headcount has grown to 1,600.
Commenting on his re-election, Jordan said: "I am honoured that my partners have given me the opportunity to continue at the helm of our firm. We have accomplished a great deal over the past nine years and as we continue to navigate the challenging economic climate and adapt to significant changes in the legal industry, I look forward to working with my colleagues around the world as we endeavour to help our clients with their legal needs."
