Barlows makes up four in partnership round

Barlow Lyde & Gilbert has promoted four lawyers to its partnership, with all four working across the firm's specialist dispute resolution teams in the City.

Jeb Clulow has become a partner in the firm's marine and energy group from 1 May, while Eurof Lloyd-Lewis becomes a partner in trade. Victoria Sherratt and Kiran Soar have both been promoted into Barlows' insurance and reinsurance division.

The promotion round represents a 50% drop on last year's record crop of eight new partners, which included seven in London and one in Hong Kong.

This year's round sees no-one making the grade in the firm's international offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.

Senior partner Simon Konsta said: "The promotions are in our marine, energy, trade, insurance and reinsurance groups, reflecting our increased growth and activity in these areas. Jeb, Eurof, Victoria and Kiran will be vital to the future growth and development of the firm and we are delighted to welcome them to partnership."

Barlows' reduced promotion round is in keeping with the rest of the City where the majority of firms have this year made up fewer partners. Herbert Smith yesterday (6 May) promoted 13 lawyers to its partnership - including seven in its corporate practice. The figure compared to 18 lawyers making the grade last year.
