Veil was added to the team advising SocGen on Monday (28 January) following Kerviel's indictment.
Veil joins Francois Martineau, a partner at Paris boutique Lussan & Associes, who landed a role on the case earlier this month, as previously reported by legalweek.com (25 January).
Completing the line-up of partners advising SocGen is Reinhart Marville Torre name partner Jean Reinhart, a specialist in business crime, corporate litigation and labour law. Before founding his own firm in 1990, Reinhart practised at Jacques Revuz and Simeon Moquet Borde.
Veil is a longstanding adviser to SocGen, having advised the French bank for the last five years. He has also represented SocGen chairman and chief executive Daniel Bouton on matters arising from a probe into an alleged Franco-Israeli money laundering affair.
Bouton was this week handed a vote of confidence by the SocGen board following news of the losses.
Veil commented: "[Reinhart] was brought in because he has the ability to understand and manage this particularly complicated case."
