Clyde & Co is promoting ten associates into its equity band this year, with a further three partners being bumped up into the senior equity status. Six of the ten associates are based in the firm's City headquarters, while its aviation and insurance practices are the biggest beneficiaries, each gaining two new partners.
Rio de Janeiro-based Sarah Catchpole was promoted to the firm's aviation practice, along with City lawyer Simon Potter. Elizabeth Leonhardt and Garrett Moore both joined the firm's insurance partnership in London.
Professional liability associate Eric Moon will join Clyde's San Francisco partnership. The firm is also making promotions in the shipping and marine and international transportation practices, with Elizabeth Turnbull and Deug Rong Lee respectively becoming partners in London.
Oleg Shvander completes the City-based promotions, joining the trade and energy practice, while the firm's Middle East offices sees the addition of two new partners - Ben Gillespie (corporate) and Glenn O'Brien (dispute resolution).
The promotions mark a marginal increase on last year's number, when nine associates were made up.
Meanwhile, Dubai insurance partner Wayne Jones, London aviation partner Gareth Lewis and Abu Dhabi corporate partner Philip O'Riordan have all been promoted as senior equity partners.
All promotions take effect 1 May.
Senior partner Michael Payton said: "In difficult times it is particularly important to promote and not to disappoint those candidates who merit partnership; and to continue to build for the future. Once again, the spread of our new partners reflects both the geographic and work-type diversity of our practice."
