The appointment, made last week (14 April) after a competitive tender process involving a number of national law firms, will see Eversheds carrying out all employment work for Sodexo in the UK and Ireland.
The national firm replaces Pinsent Masons and Beachcroft in the role, with the mandate lasting for an initial period of two years.
Eversheds will advise on employment tribunal claims as well as providing non-contentious and strategic employment law advice for the company, which has 43,000 staff providing facilities management and catering services to companies in the corporate, healthcare, education, defence and leisure sectors.
Employment partner Simon Tytherleigh, who led the team for the firm, said: "This appointment is testament to our tried and tested approach to managing employment tribunal claims, which delivers greater certainty of outcome and cost."
Eversheds' appointment comes after Sodexo appointed former Transport for London (TfL) director of legal and compliance Gareth John as its new general counsel at the beginning of the year (5 January).
In 2007, John conducted a panel review for TfL when Eversheds also proved successful. The firm picked up a four-year mandate for mainstream advice on the panel unveiled by TfL and London Underground.
