Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has promoted five associates to its partnership, the top 20 City law firm announced today (15 April).

Vanessa Barnett, Elizabeth Bradley, Angus Ford, Julian Hickey and Alex Latner all join the partnership from the beginning of next month, bringing the total number of partners at the firm to 180.

Bradley and Hickey are corporate tax specialists, while Latner becomes a partner in the corporate finance team. Barnett is promoted in the business and technology services group while Ford is the only new partner to get the nod in the firm’s key real estate team.

The number marks a slight dip from last year’s figure of six, when four associates were also promoted to the rank of associate director.

Commenting on the latest promotions, BLP managing partner Neville Eisenberg (pictured) said: “I am very pleased for all of them and delighted that our continued growth has enabled us to offer them this opportunity to develop their careers with us.

“They are all highly talented and client-focused and their work is of the highest quality.”

In contrast to the promotions recently announced by a number of City firms, all the new partners at BLP are based in London, with the firm’s offices in Paris, Brussels and Singapore all missing out.
