On behalf on our a very well established midlands based law firm, Frances Armstrong Associates LLP is currently seeking a Private Tax Solicitor or Adviser to join our clients well respected Private Client Team based in Birmingham.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Private Tax Solicitor or Adviser to undertake a broad role covering all areas of personal tax including income tax, capital gains tax, national insurance in addition to the traditional inheritance tax.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3+ year’s pqe and requires a professional who wishes to join one of the midlands leading Tax teams. The team has a varied and high quality workload, including all aspects of personal tax, wills and lasting powers of attorney, the formation, administration and restructuring of trusts.

The role will also involve some share shares work and will touch on corporate tax issues but the focus is on personal tax.

The successful applicant will also be working closely with the Private Client property and family and matrimonial teams where cross selling opportunities are assured.

Essential Attributes:

• A minimum of 3+ years U.K PQE with experience gained in a large regional or City law firm or accountancy practice
• Good academics (2.1 degree and A,A,C at A level or equivalent)
• CTA qualified or studying for these exams
• High standard of technical knowledge and expertise in private tax
• Good research skills, including an ability to use online information sources
• IT literacy
• Ability to build relationships with clients and potential clients
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• A Member of STEP is desirable but not a pre-requisite

Salary: A very competitive salary and benefits package, will be discussed and awarded to reflect skills, previous experience and expectations.
