Leading debt purchase company has an opening for a Solicitor with 3 yrs+ PQE.

Core responsibilities: –
* Handling cases defended by debtors against whom proceedings have been issued for recovery of the debt
* Initiating and implementing legal debt recovery strategies.
* Ensuring business wide compliance with the CCA, DPA, OFT guidelines and other relevant legislation and codes.
* Working with the training manager to develop compliance training programmes and staff tests
* Ensuring that collections and litigation strategies comply with and maximise the benefits of, relevant legislation and codes
* Overseeing regulatory projects, e.g. final stage implementation of CCA 06 statements etc project.
* Assisting the litigation and admin teams with technical CCA arguments when necessary
* Signing off submissions FOS in relation to complaints
* Occasional reviewing of supplier contracts
* Approving standard business letters to customers/debtors
* General assistant to the business on an ad hoc legal basis
* Maintaining CCLs and DPA registrations for all Group companies.

Key skills:-
* Thorough understanding of the consumer credit act 1974 and related regulations
* Experience in customer debt recovery litigation
* Ability to effectively impart knowledge in order to train team members on technical points of law

Candidates should have trained with a UK law firm or have gained experience working as a fee earner in a UK firm.
