We are looking to recruit a solicitor or barrister (private practice or in-house) with 3+ years’ pqe who is working in the insurance sector providing regulatory advice to clients on all types of transactions and conduct of business both in the Life and Non-Life markets.

The role will be to support a partner who is leading the development of our transactional insurance practice in London and internationally.

This is a strategically important appointment within the firm’s growing finance sector practice. The firm is committed to developing its relationships with financial institutions including banks, insurance companies and insurance brokers in London and internationally. There will be considerable opportunity for developing skills in a wide variety of areas and for career advancement. Candidates can expect to be involved in advising on issues such as:

• regulation of Life and Non-Life insurance companies including authorisation, conduct of business and prudential regulation
• regulation of insurance intermediaries
• insurance product/policy development, implementation and regulation in both the Life and Non-Life sectors
• reinsurance agreements and arrangements
• capital markets transactions involving insurance or the transfer of insurance risk
• acquisition or transfer of insurance business or liabilities including closed books
• insurance aspects of mergers and acquisitions
• setting up captive insurance companies and “sidecars”
• Lloyd’s regulation
• insurance company capital and solvency issues
