Media Litigation Vacancy - Associate Level 4
Salary: Competitive
Location: London
Addleshaw Goddard is creating an `identifiably different` brand in the UK legal market. Wherever you are in our dynamic business, in whatever team, you’re encouraged to let your own style and personality shine through. We place an extraordinarily high value on each individual's talents and the remarkable strength we gain from working together, finding innovative, practical and commercial solutions which support our clients' business objectives.
We’re more than simply one of the UK’s most successful law firms. We have a great client portfolio, a clear growth strategy and culture that is open, honest and determined to succeed. Everyone in our firm has the opportunity to develop professionally, be recognised for their commitment and rewarded for their contribution.
Part of the Firm's largest Division, the Contentious Group has 30 partners and in excess of 100 other fee-earners firm-wide providing litigation and dispute resolution services to blue chip, household name clients both nationally and internationally. Our defamation/reputation management practice is consistently ranked in the first or second tier of leading firms in the field by Legal 500 and Chambers.
The Role
• Operating within our highly respected London contentious team, this role will focus primarily on media/internet litigation and reputation management issues.
• The successful candidate will also work on other contentious cases within the group. This gives Associates a breadth of knowledge and awareness which we feel ultimately creates better, more rounded lawyers.
The Candidate
Any successful applicant will need the following skills in addition to the general competencies for an Associate Level 4 as described on the Careers section of the website:
• Strong knowledge and experience of defamation, privacy, confidentiality and soft IP law, and of practical aspects of media crisis management and reputation management generally, including on the internet
• Ability to advise and act for clients pre- and post-broadcast/publication, including at short notice and out of hours
• The willingness to support business development activity, creating and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Experience of media litigation, gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level
