The firm has also made up two female partner-equivalents who, while not qualified lawyers, share the same rights and remuneration as partners. The promotions take the number of partners and partner-equivalents at the firm to 113.
The tally significantly boosts the number of women in senior roles at the national firm with Emna Sfar-Gandoura, Michelle Sherwood, Lynn Knight and Karen Shakespear all making partner, while Kay Taylor and Lisa Emery become partner-equivalents.

Commenting on the promotions, chief executive Paul Stothard (pictured) said: “We continue to attract and develop quality people and all of these people have come through. We are also focusing on the non-volume practice areas.”
All of the promotions come into effect on 1 May.
The promotions follow those of national firms Beachcroft, Mills & Reeve and Irwin Mitchell which all announced their 2008 partner promotions earlier this week. Beachcroft promoted six lawyers to its partnership taking its total partnership to 144, while Mills & Reeve made up seven lawyers – compared with four last year. Meanwhile, Irwin Mitchell promoted four lawyers to partner taking its partnership to 113.
