Baker & McKenzie’s City arm has added leading corporate partner Peter Strivens to its
UK management committee.
Strivens, who heads the London telecommunications group, will take up the post on 1 September for an initial period of two years.
He replaces infrastructure partner Mike Webster, who stood down after five years on the committee.
Strivens, whose practice covers transactions and regulatory work in telecoms as well as general M&A, will not have a specific remit on the seven-person board.
Employment partner John Evason, who was appointed to the management committee in 2007, will take on Webster’s responsibility for professional development issues.
The committee sits just below the firm’s international executive committee and acts as a general management team for the London office.
In addition to Strivens and Evason, the board is made up of fee earners and support staff comprising
London managing partner Gary Senior, corporate partner in charge of marketing Beatriz Pessoa de Araujo, chief finance officer Arthur Ferry, HR director Martin Blackburn and partnership secretary Bob Wells.
