Baker & McKenzie has promoted six new partners in its London office.

The promotions, which became effective earlier this week (1 July), represent an increase on the five lawyers that were made up last year and bring the number of London partners up to 84.

The international firm has bolstered its corporate capabilities with Robert Ada, Roy Pearce and James Reed all promoted to the partnership, while Helen Bardell, Daniel Ellis and Frances Okosi were made up in EC competition & trade, employment and banking respectively.

Commenting on the promotions, London managing partner Gary Senior said: ''All six individuals have considerable expertise in their practice and have demonstrated exceptional commitment to our clients.”

The news follows the lateral partner hires of Peter Castellon, who joined the corporate division from Citi, and Justin Salkeld, who joins the firm's property team from Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis.

Bakers has also elected a new managing partner for its Paris office.

Competition partner Regis Fabre formally took up the position yesterday (1 July) for a two-year term. Fabre takes over from co-managing partners Denise Broussal and Laurent Epstein after the firm decided to consolidate the role.
