Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has bolstered its London corporate practice with the hire of Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo’s former London corporate head.

Lena Hodge, who has joined Orrick as a partner, left Mintz Levin on Friday (12 October).

She focuses primarily on advising issuers and underwriters on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM), with a particular emphasis on the technology, life sciences and emerging markets sectors.

Dean Poster, a corporate partner and partner-in-charge of English law at Orrick in London, said: “The continued growth of the corporate group in London and throughout Europe is one of the firm's key strategic objectives. Her experience in the AIM space will add additional depth to Orrick's London corporate team.”

Commenting on her move Hodge, said: “I was attracted to Orrick's focus on growing its London corporate practice and in particular the firm's global commitment to building its capabilities in serving emerging companies and investors in AIM.”

The hire comes after Orrick has lost a number of partners in Europe in recent months, with senior London restructuring partner Anthony Princi – who joined Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker in March – among the defectors.
