Dewey & LeBoeuf has bolstered its
Rome office with the addition of two new partners from the local office of Clifford Chance (CC).
The US firm is bringing in CC corporate partner Tiziana Del Prete and capital markets counsel Guido Masini as partners, with both joining alongside small teams of associates.
The hires will take the number of partners in Dewey’s Rome office to five, with Del Prete joining as an equity partner and Masini as a local partner.
The two team hires mean the New York firm now has around 90 lawyers, including 19 partners, across its Milan and Rome offices, placing it inside the 10 largest law firms in Italy. Earlier this year the firm added private equity partner Francesco Cartolano, from Camozzi Bonissoni Varrenti & Associati, who splits his time between Rome and Milan.
Dewey Italian managing partner Bruno Gattai said: “We are delighted to welcome our two newest Italian partners and their associates to Dewey & LeBoeuf'’s burgeoning Italian practice. [Del Prete and Masini] are the perfect addition in order for us to reach a critical mass in the Rome office. They match exactly our culture, our client focus and approach to the legal profession.”
The departure of Del Prete will leave CC’s 40-lawyer Rome office with five partners. The magic circle law firm has a significantly larger office in Milan.
