Thirteen law firms have won places on the first-ever panel created by four of
Yorkshire’s largest county councils.
Firms including Addleshaw Goddard, Beachcroft, Walker Morris, Browne Jacobson, Weightmans and Bevan Brittan were appointed to the West Yorkshire Local Authorities (WKLA) legal panel at the end of last month. The firms have been hired for an initial three-year period with the option for a renewable two-year extension.
The appointment by the Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield authorities is part of the councils’ drive to reduce legal costs and follows a 12-month tender process.
Walker Morris commercial group head David Kilduff who led the team for the
Leeds firm, said: “The drive for public sector bodies to improve efficiency and value for money is encouraging collaboration and new forms of procurement. This legal framework agreement demonstrates the councils’ willingness to work together to deliver service improvement and cost savings.”
