Allen & Overy (A&O) and Wragge & Co have been named as the best two workplaces in the legal sector in a new survey.
The pair are the only two law firms to feature in the annual rankings of the UK’s best workplaces, released today by the Great Place to Work Institute.
It is the second consecutive year that Wragges has made the rankings, although A&O did not feature in the tables last year.
A&O HR director Genevieve Tennant said: "We have done a lot of work in recent years to give our staff rewarding careers. A significant part of the ranking is based on feedback from employees, so our position is very positive."
Google topped the ranking of best workplaces in the UK while other companies that made the top 50 included BDO Stoy Hayward, Lehman Brothers and Paternoster.
The rankings consider at the level of trust employees have in their organisation.
Williams Johnson Mota, business development and sales manager for the Great Place to Work Institute commented: “A&O and Wragges exemplify what it means to be a great place to work. The companies have managed to balance a dynamic culture with a commitment to business excellence. The companies have instigated policies that facilitate the personal and professional development of employees. Other firms would do well to emulate the best practice HR management policies employed by these companies.”
