US firm Howrey has expanded its London intellectual property (IP) practice with the addition of two new partners from City firms.

Marjan Noor joins from Taylor Wessing, where she was a partner, while Paul Inman switches to Howrey from Simmons & Simmons, where he was an associate.

Noor, who joined Howrey this week, has a scientific background and specialises in patent and regulatory law in the life sciences sector.

Inman, who is set to join Howrey in February, specialises in contentious and non-contentious IP, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and patent litigation.

The hires are the latest in a line of additions for Howrey’s City IP team, which last year recruited Taylor Wessing life sciences and healthcare chief Mark Hodgson, as well as former Linklaters IP head Jeremy Brown.

Commenting on the latest recruits, Hodgson said: “Marjan is a specialist life sciences lawyer while Paul is a hugely experienced patent litigator who in recent years has worked on a number of very high-profile cases. Their respective abilities and skill-sets will augment further the already powerful IP team Howrey has assembled in London.”

Howrey has also been expanding its IP practice outside London in recent times, opening a dedicated IP office in Munich last year and boosting its teams in Paris and the US. It is also planning to launch an IP practice in its new Madrid office, which opened at the start of this year.
