Simmons & Simmons has announced its latest round of partner promotions, with the top 10 City firm making up 18 new partners.
Half of the new partners are based at the firm’s London hub, with the remaining nine spread across Simmons’ international network.

The financial markets team is the main beneficiary by practice area, picking up a total of seven new partner, while corporate receives five promotions and three get the nod in dispute resolution. Partners are also made up in competition, tax and real estate.
The promotions, which were effective from 1 May, bring the total number of partners at Simmons to 244 and represent a significant increase on last year’s tally of 13.
Simmons senior partner David Dickinson said: “I am particularly pleased that half of the new partners are from our international offices, reflecting the international strength and depth of the firm.
“We are committed to delivering high-quality legal advice to our clients globally and these appointments reflect the growing depth of our international practice groups.”
The news comes in the wake of the firm’s announcement yesterday (6 May) that revenue was up 16% from £250.4m last year to £290m for 2007-08. Simmons indicated that it expects average partner profits to top £600,000 this year.
