Bristol leader Osborne Clarke (OC) has boosted its dispute resolution team with the hire of a partner from regional rival Bevan Brittan.

Tim Boyce ended a five-year stint at Bevan Brittan, where he was also a partner, by joining OC’s Bristol headquarters earlier this month.

The addition of Boyce means the top 50 UK law firm now has 13 partners in its 60-lawyer disputes team, clients of which have included Dell, Vodafone and Thames Water.

Commenting on the appointment, OC disputes chief Peter Clough said: "Tim joins a disputes practice in the ascendancy. Over the last few years OC has advised on both national and international disputes of considerable size and complexity, acting for clients of premium quality.”

He added: "Tim is a serious player in the litigation marketplace and is just the sort of lawyer we want to have on board to complement our team."

Over the past year OC’s dispute practice has acted on high-profile actions including the $450m (£227.7m) Tadaz fraud case and a $200m (£110.2m) arbitration relating to energy assets in the former Soviet Union.

Boyce’s arrival follows OC’s hire last month of former Wiggin senior partner Mike Turner to head its internet and digital media arm. Turner will take up his new post from July and will become an equity partner with the regional heavyweight.
