Ince & Co has announced its 2008 round of partner promotions, with the top 50
UK law firm making up three new partners, including two in the City. The promotions, which are effective from 1 May, take the total number of partners at the firm to 85.
Jonathan Goldfarb is based in the City and specialises in both non-contentious and contentious work in the shipping, shipbuilding and offshore oil and gas industries.
Insurance specialist Carol Searle also makes partner in London. She concentrates on political risk insurance and re-insurance cases as well as international trade disputes.
The third promotion comes in the firm’s Hamburg office. Public international law specialist Markus Eichhorst becomes the first new partner Ince has made up in the office since it was launched in October 2001.
The promotions represent a significant drop from last year’s partnership round, when Ince made up seven partners, including six in London. Last year the firm achieved double-digit growth in both turnover and profits, with fees up 12% to £56m and profits per equity partner climbing by 10% to a new mark of £396,000.
Ince joins Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer among the first major UK firms to announce its latest round of partner promotions, with the magic circle giant yesterday (17 March) unveiling a total of 25 new partners, including 10 in the City.
