The firm has created a new-look company and commercial practice, which will house the firm’s existing technology and intellectual property, commercial litigation and private client teams. Senior commercial litigation partner Noel Fagan will oversee the new group.
In addition, the firm has also merged its healthcare and specialist NHS Litigation Authority teams to form a single department dubbed health services. Its construction and property practices also become a single group.
Managing partner Peter Jackson told Legal Week: “We looked at our rivals and realised there was scope for us to update our approach. Our previous structure was impacting on management, who were being diverted from fee earning.”
The 144-partner national firm will retain its four remaining practice groups, which are: professional risks; employment and pensions; marine law and insurance. The revamp follows a formal consultation process earlier this year.
