The new appointments, which are effective from 1 May, match last year figure, when the firm also made up 30 new partners.

In addition, the firm has also announced the promotion of 33 lawyers to the rank of senior associate and 72 lawyers to the role of associate.
Commenting on the appointments, chief executive David Gray said: “We are proud to announce these promotions, which are a reflection on the success we had in 2007-08 and a serious number of new client wins.

The news comes after national rivals Addleshaw Goddard and Pinsent Masons respectively promoted nine and 17 new partners.
