Barnes was appointed as a City representative on the Law Society’s council yesterday (17 July) at the annual general meeting (AGM) after standing in an uncontested election.
Barnes has taken over the four-year role from Woolf, who decided not to seek re-election when her role expired. Woolf will concentrate on her work as Alderman of London as well as her role as a consultant at CMS Cameron McKenna.
Barnes will join four other City representatives of the Law Society council, including:
- PI Legal Services managing partner Fleur Palmer;
- Clifford Chance litigation partner Simon Davis;
- current chair of the City of London Law Society, David McIntosh; and
- John White, senior executive at the Toronto Bank Financial Group.
