Current incumbent Neville Eisenberg is coming to the end of a nine-year stint as managing partner at the City firm. The vote is due for February with the three-year term set to begin on 1 May.
Eisenberg, who ran uncontested during the 2003 and 2006 elections, was first elected in 1999 and ratified in 2001, when Berwin Leighton merged with Paisner & Co.
Eisenberg has refused to confirm whether he will stand again. However, partners inside the firm have indicated that he is likely to run again in a move that would potentially make him one of the longest-serving leaders of a major City law firm.
At the same time as the managing partner election, the firm is set to put forward its nomination for senior partner and chairman of its board, though neither position is elected. The positions are respectively held currently by Harold Paisner and Peter Robinson.
