Southwest duo Osborne Clarke (OC) and Burges Salmon have both posted double-digit growth for the most recent financial year, as the regional heavyweights release their figures for 2007-08.

Osborne Clarke (OC) revealed revenues of £95.3m for the last 12 months, with the figure representing a 15% increase on last year’s fee income of £82.8m.

The firm posted 8% growth in profits per equity partner to reach £554,000, while total profits across the UK and German practices increased by 16% to £42.2m.

Managing partner Simon Beswick said: "We continued to invest in both our people and our infrastructure over the last year. The focus is twofold – to provide a sound basis for growth over the long term and to ensure we are well placed to advise on important transactions and premium business law matters.”

The news comes after OC earlier this month (10 June) ramped up its dispute resolution team with the hire of Tim Boyce from southwest rival Bevan Brittan. His arrival brings the number of partners in OC’s dispute team to 13.

Meanwhile, fellow Bristol leader Burges Salmon has announced provisional turnover of £68.2m, an 11% increase on the £61.4m billed in 2006-07. The firm’s profit figures are yet to be finalised.

Commenting on the performance, Burges Salmon managing partner Guy Stobart said: "We are pleased to have exceeded budget expectations again and to have had another excellent year, with steady organic growth confirming our ability to provide a high-quality service to our clients.”
