BPP College of Professional Studies has bagged Baker & McKenzie’s director of learning and development Colin Dworkin to co-ordinate its tailored in-house education function.

Dworkin, who joins in July, will fill the newly-created role of director of talent development programmes.

The position will see him take responsibility for working with individual law firms to produce specially designed courses for their employees.

Dworkin practiced as a corporate lawyer until 1994 before taking up a number of roles in legal education. Prior to joining Bakers he previously taught part of the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP.

Dworkin said: “BPP is in a unique position in the talent development arena and is well-placed to build an integrated framework of accredited management, business and leadership programmes which will deliver real value in the professional service firm market. It is great to be part of this challenge and opportunity.”

Principal and chairman of BPP College Carl Lygo said: “I am delighted that Colin will be joining BPP. He brings a huge amount of experience and will continue to build on the College’s reputation as a leading provider of professional education and training.”
