Taylor Wessing has become the latest firm to post solid financial results, with the top 30 firm’s UK operations seeing an 11% increase in turnover.

The growth takes the firm’s turnover figure up from £90.5m for 2006-07 to a new high of £97.5m.

The increase is marginally slower for the 2007-2008 financial year than for the previous year, when turnover grew by 14.7%.

Managing partner Michael Frawley told Legal Week that the firm’s real estate, corporate and finance practice all put in strong performances with the firm’s global turnover increasing by just under 19% to hit £180m.

Frawley said: “This was a year of two stories. Germany and Dubai had a fantastic year, and the UK, France and Brussels had a strong start but due to the economic market struggled in the third quarter. However, they showed improvement in the fourth quarter. The model of the firm has given us resilience.”

The firm has yet to announce growth in profits per equity partner (PEP), but last year PEP grew by 12.8% to hit £583,400.

Taylor Wessing’s results are the latest in a series of upbeat financial results from City firms. Berwin Leighton Paisner, Olswang and CMS Cameron McKenna are amongst the firms reporting double-digit growth in revenues over the last week.

The firm says the numbers are provisional as there are still some adjustments to be made.
